Waiting....

So we are just waiting for a referral now.  We have completed our dossier and just sitting around, waiting to get that phone call and email with our daughter's information and picture! The referral could happen soon or it could be a few months down the line.  It is just a waiting game from here.  Only God knows the timing and we wait patiently for His perfect timing.

Major Update! New country!

Wow!  So much has changed since my last post!  We picked back up the adoption in March and are completed with our homestudy and almost complete with our dossier!  Kind of a long story, but we have changed countries from Ethiopia to the Democratic of Congo.  We are still requesting a 3-7 yr special needs little girl but now that we are adopting from DRC, the adoption apparently will go much faster, we are told!  We were given a quote of 6-9 months from now that we will be able to travel to pick up our daughter!  It is so surreal!  It is finally happening.  We are officially on the referral waiting list, meaning we can receive a picture of our daughter any day now....could be today....could be 5 months down the line.  However, we are told it will be quick :)  With this shorter timeframe, we are also needing money quicker.  So far, our funding for the adoption has come out of our own pocket of savings but it has proven difficult these past few months to save money with an unplanned commute of 90 miles for my husband daily.  That is another story in itself.  So we are now racking our brains and trying to come up with fundraising ideas to help us to do what God has lead for our family, and try to do so without going into debt.  I'll be listing upcoming fundraisers soon!  Please continue to pray for this whole adoption process.  We are all excited, anxious, and trusting God to provide financially.
